Ordinary 23 – Marriage and discipleship both require a total gift of self. If you try to negotiate a lower ‘cost’, you’ll find these relationships constantly frustrating. If you’re not afraid to pay the price, the rewards are out of this world.
Ordinary 22 – Are we protecting and serving ourselves, or are we protecting and serving others? That is the question for police and priests, but also for doctors, lawyers, mothers and fathers — you and me. Humble yourself and God will exalt you.
Ordinary 13 – The biggest obstacle to saying Yes to priesthood was accepting celibacy. Celibacy has turned out to be a great blessing. Jesus is a total self-gift. He only wants disciples who are willing to do the same.
Immaculate Conception – On our way to celebrate Jesus’ birth, we pause to celebrate Mary’s conception. Why?!? God had such a great gift that no one was pure enough to receive it. God helped Mary be ready. Advent is when God helps us get ready.
Ordinary 21 – Jesus shows that true manhood is laying down your life for others. Christ loves us whole-heartedly. He gives His body and blood so that we can become one flesh with Him. Are you content with your half-hearted love for Jesus?
Marriage begins in the Garden of Eden. Chastity preserves marriage from the corruption of sin. This is the first wine. The Sacrament of Matrimony is the new wine: an image of the love of God himself that desires a One Flesh union with us. [AUDIO]
Ordinary25 – We are often ungrateful for God’s gifts. We ask God for all kinds of things… How often have you asked God for a deeper relationship with Him? The best gift God has to give is Himself, but it’s often the last gift we really want.
