Ordinary Time, 32nd Sunday. The prophet Elijah asks a widow for her last meal. She gives generously, and God takes care of them both. God’s nature is to give and He is willing to give us so much, provided we pass it on to others. When we hoard what God gives us, it is never enough. When we give, it is more than enough. In the Gospel reading we see the Pharisees who hoard all the riches and honors they can get. Then we see the widow who gives everything. We judge by how much someone has; God judges by how generously we give. Are you being generous?
