Ordinary 33 – The Book of Daniel can be summed up in two words: God wins. The tragedies, trials, and dominions of this world are part of God’s great plan to bring about His kingdom. Do you want to see the victory in your own life? Remain faithful.
Ordinary 31 + TEC Anniversary – God commands us to love Him because He made us to love and be loved. But it’s humanly impossible! So God has sent the Holy Spirit into your heart. Listen to the Holy Spirit. He will transform you into God’s likeness.
All Souls – Here are three reasons why we pray for the dead: 1) Purgatory is Heaven’s Welcome Mat: Wipe your Souls before you enter 2) Communion: Our ancestors are still with us on our journey. 3) We want to meet them at the Resurrection of the Dead.
All Saints – Heaven is full of light, joy, peace… and free of death, evil, and sin. There’s only one requirement to get in: you have to be completely free of sin. Let God’s love fill your heart and life and — voilà! You are already in heaven.
Ordinary 30 – Arlie Hochschild, Strangers in Their Own Land talks about the Deep Story. Is your Deep Story one individualism and self-preservation? Being a Christian means we are part of Creation: inherently connected, known, and valuable.
Ordinary 29 – We like the idea of leaders serving others… until its our turn. How would life be different if you put others first? It would look like a baseball team helping each other win. If you want to be a servant, you have to do these two things.
Ordinary 28 – You can’t do something to inherit eternal life because Jesus himself is Eternal Life. He loves you, and he desires you to be his friend. The journey may cost you everything, but it’s worth 100 times more. ”I love you. Come, follow me.”
Ordinary 27 – Our marriages would succeed if we would only live 1 Corinthians 13. Let God live in you and love in you. Action items: Daily Devotions, Sunday Worship, Faithful Obedience to God. Pray the Rosary. The Battle of Lepanto, thats why.
Ordinary 26 – Politics is not a sporting event between a red team and a blue team. And Jesus does not want to talk about what those other people are doing wrong. Jesus wants to focus on you. A sense of mission helps us see things from God’s perspective.
Ordinary 25 – Jesus is totally dependent on his Heavenly Father. How do you respond when you feel inadequate? Accept the fact that you are totally dependent on your Heavenly Father. Do your best, and God will do the rest.
