Receiving and Spreading the Good Seed (#733, 15th Sunday)

Fr. Joel Homilies 1 Comment

Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time (Year A) • God is a generous sower. We need to be good soil: open to receive, willing to persevere, and free from spiritual clutter. A good crop gives off good seeds. Parents need to plant good seeds and not weeds in the hearts of their children. Our local parish can help spread and nourish the good seed.

(16 July 2017)

Point to Ponder: What in your life competes with the good seed of God’s word? Does your heart need to be weeded?

Point to Discuss: Talk to a friend who loves generously and thank them for spreading the Good Seed.

Point for Action: Acts of love help spread the seeds. Do something generous today.

  1. Beautiful, Father! My aunt Mary just turned me on to these and you are doing an amazing job! Please pray for my mom, Judy, who was just diagnosed with breast cancer. I hope this ends up being a blessing to her. Sure doesn’t feel that way right now..
I wish you weren’t so far away! I’m going to binge-listen now:)
